Surgical Training
Dr. Azizzadeh is a board certified, Harvard trained facial plastic surgeon. Dr. Azizzadeh specializes in all aspects of cosmetic and reconstructive surgery including: primary rhinoplasty, revision rhinoplasty, ethnic rhinoplasty, cleft of let rhinoplasty, septoplasty and nasal reconstruction following skin cancer surgery.
Dr. Azizzadeh is the Director of the Institute for Rhinoplasty and Nasal Reconstruction. He is board certified by the American Board of facial plastic and reconstructive surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck surgery. As a result, he has the insight for nasal beauty and breathing function. His expertise in primary and revision rhinoplasty has made him one of the most sought after surgeons in the country. Dr. Azizzadeh has been featured on the Oprah Winfrey show, the New York Times, discovery health, and numerous other media for his expertise in facial plastic surgery.
After graduating from the UCLA, school of medicine, with highest honors, Dr. Azizzadeh completed a six year residency program in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck surgery at the UCLA medical center. He then completed a sub specialized Fellowship in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery at Harvard Medical School. This prestigious fellowship position was available only to one surgeon in the United States and sanctioned by the American Academy of facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Azizzadeh is currently a clinical faculty member of the UCLA, school of medicine, and the Audrey Skirball-Kenis Center for plastic and reconstructive surgery at Cedars-Sinai medical center. He is a member of the American Academy of facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, American Rhinal Logic Society, and the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck surgery. He is also a member of the exclusive Alpha Omega Alpha honor Medical Society.
As clinical faculty at the UCLA, school of medicine, Dr. Azizzadeh is actively involved in teaching nasal and facial plastic surgery to residents and medical students. He has also been actively engaged in clinical and basic science research in order to further advance the field. He has received many honors and grants for his research endeavors.
Furthermore, he has published numerous articles and has presented his techniques at the national and international level. While at UCLA, he collaborated with Dr. Louis Ignarro, the 1998 Nobel Laureate in medicine, to evaluate the role of nitric oxide in microsurgical reconstructive surgery. At Harvard Medical School, he worked at Massachusetts General Hospital investigating the application of novel imaging technology in facial reach constructive procedures.
In addition to his busy surgical practice, Dr. Azizzadeh has also been actively involved in several humanitarian causes such as the Medical Missions for Children (MMFC). Dr. Azizzadeh travels with MMFC to Third World countries to treat children with cleft lip and those deformities. Dr. Azizzadeh is also actively involved with the R.O.S.E Fund (regaining one's self-esteem). The R.O.S.E fund is a national nonprofit organization committed to ending violence against women and children by assisting survivors to regain their self-esteem. Dr. Azizzadeh is part of the reconstructive surgery team, which devotes the personal time to help women kill the physical scars of their domestic violence. After working with the R.O.S.E fund at Harvard Medical School, Dr. Azizzadeh is organizing a base in California to broaden the horizons of the organization.
